I've had the Maroon Clown in my 55G, 4ft reef for two years now. The maroon clown pretty much claimed the left most corner of the tank for two years. It is about 3 inches right now.
Finally, last month I bought one True Percula of about 1.25 inches. Drip acclimated it and was successful in integrating the fish into the reef tank. I made sure that I did the drop off on the right side of the tank.
It has claimed the right side of the rock work and is now hosting a hammer coral.
On the first day, the True Perc traveled to the left side to scope the place out then "snap", I heard the crackling of the water! I looked at the maroon clown and it has squeezed itself into the rock work on his turf. I then saw the true perc swimming back to its side of the tank.
I observed every day and found that they have now each claimed the sides of the tank.
Pictures to come. I am optimistic that they will continue to tolerate each other's territory for months even years.
