So how was the swap?

My first. Excellent event. Good to put faces to the names that I see here. Help me out -- maybe we can keep up the tradition of stick-on name tags at future meetings for those us who embarrassingly just can't keep names and faces straight. Thanks to everyone who worked to put it all together!

It was a good time, and I got more than I needed or planned. I spent 4 hours re-arranging my 90 to put the frags in where I wanted them, but it they are all great.

Terry, the RICs are great...I got them all on one rock and looking good.

OH and I won a raffle prize and got a nice PFO 175 watt Retrofit Mh light. complete setup. Anyone needing one, PM me. I don't think it will go well with my new T5 setup.

Thanks GARY.....

Thank you all for the great work!!

NARC members and I really enjoyed the swap. It was so good to see you guys.

I got more than I planned as well. I set up a make-shift QT tank and all my frags (less zoa which already had a fresh water dip treatment) are in there waiting for a dip treatment today. Then I have to figure out where I can put them - more like squeeze them into...

Man...I am freakin' tired! Holy crap!

It was a great swap for me too...but I'm really just excited that I got enough money to buy my RO system that I've been needing for a very long LONG time. Wooo hooo! RO!

It was a trip seeing Mel and her table mate servicing the crowd at their table. It was more like a feeding frenzy!!! (you need to bring a bouncer or two next year!)

I spent enough money at that table to buy a couple of RO units

:bum:

The people, like Mel, that had photo's of their wares made it easier to shop. I am enjoying my acquisitions but sorry I missed out on Barney.

Great event but need more of them!!

Hah hah...man I felt like I was working!

I'm not sure whether I even looked up to see who was who for the first hour and a half! It was pretty awesome actually. But I really just hope the frags do well for eveyone!

I had a good time too. This place was much better than last year and organizing such an event is truely monumental...I give 3 cheers to all who helped make this a huge success. I look forward to this event.

However I came away disappointed...I had 3 deals pre-set before the event, of which only 1 went thru as planned. No show for my frag and selling my reserved frag before I had the chance to pick it up, left me disappointed. Just my bad luck I guess.

Well Kevin...let me ask you this. Did you tell them you were going to be late?

I didn't know until I asked someone about you that you were going to be late and I specifically said on my thread that I would only hold frags for 2 hours. If I had not known you were going to be late...well...I hate to say it, but I might have sold it too. Me...I'm the kind to ask where someone is...maybe the others didn't, ya know? It was pure pandemonium in there.

Thanks Gary and to all of the MTRC volunteers who contributed on making this Frag Swap the best one I've ever been to! :)

It was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! It was pandemonium for the first 2 hours. :D

Also "Thank you" for providing a free table to each club and for allowing me to promote SaltWaterU coming up on May 4-6 and to promote MASNA too!

BTW, where is Gary? Haven't heard anything out of him today. Maybe he is sleeping it off. He deserves it.

anyone know who the person was who was setup in the back corner. If you walked in the entrance and go right, at the end. He had the 2 for 1 after 2:30 deals goin'.

Steve

A great swap, many thanks to all who worked hard to make it happen. I'd imagine Gary and crew need to catch up on some sleep!

It was pretty exciting at the beginning, and the ETRC bus was a little late, so that added to the fun. Fantastic to see so many people come for the swap though, I know some people had to get up pretty early to get there!

Can't wait for next year's...

Still recovering. My back is a goner... I was up at 5:00 yesterday morning and didn't stop until I had everything acclimated. Plus with Jenn in town only on the weekends right now, I needed a break from the reef for a day or so;). I didn't get to see a single tank other than my own and Casey's... I heard there was a lot of nice stuff. It got nuts really early and got nuttier as time went by. Steve ran runner for me, too for an ORA Australian delicate frag and some Dowflake (thanks Jay-I think I misread the thread..., but thanks alot:). Monteman manned my table from 1:30 almost until the end of the swap. Thank you very much:). You need to come by some time and pick out some frags;). I couldn't slow down any one of the 17 lanes of traffic for long enough to grab a coherent thought most of the day. Had a blast, though.

Thanks to all who helped. Everyone pulled a lot of weight yesterday and filled in for some of my planning gaps in the morning. That keep the show going. Also, thanks to Joy from PFO-the Solaris are awesome, and to all the clubs and individuals that came out. I hope everyone had a good time and got lots of nice things. I brought home fewer things than I ever have from a frag swap, spent about as much money, but can now cross a number of things off of my long time wants list:). Didn't bring home a single thing I took (Wayne got everything in the tank at the end for some upcoming trades:)).

OH MY! I totallyforgot to do my spot! Dang dang!! Why didn't anyone come grab me or did they try and couldn't wade through the traffic at my tank :) I did very well for myself. Broke even, took a dab extra cash home for all the hard work and was super excited with all my goodies so it was a best day ever for me.

I feel totally bad! Who filled in my gap? I owe you a big thanks and something for takeing up my slack! I owe Joy for a water I never made it to the kitchen to pay for also. She was so nice to bring me a drink and I stiff her! Man I was a basket case yesterday!! But you guys know how forgetfull I am.... :(

I drove up to the frag swap from Birmingham and it was worth the drive. I left with frogspawn, hammer coral, zoas, two types of Xenia, a striped mushroom, and a Kenia Tree. Where else on the planet could someone purchase all this for under $80 ? It was truely unbelieveable. Thank you for a great service to the community. Paulb.

I actually reported for my shift at the raffle table but the girls who were there told me not to worry about it, they had it. I had a great time and enjoyed every minute of it. I liked the openness but there were a few congested areas. Not too bad though.
