so i finally received my lights

i got a pc fixture for my tank. it was supposed to come with stand legs to situate the lights above the tank. as with my luck they didn't bother to pack those. still not sure if they're gonna get them to me or not. but i was wondering is it possible or safe to just lay the lights over the top of the tank? or should i wait till i have something to have it raised above the tank before i try to install it.

if there's any remedies or diy kinda thing i can use to hold a 48" light fixture, i'm all ears for that as well...thanks

Just use blocks of wood on the ends to hold it about 2" off the top of the tank and you should be fine.

What type of fixture? I have mounting legs for the coralife aqualight here, that i am not using and you can have.

i think the brand is catalina? do you know if those are only supported on the coralife lights?

i know that the coralifes have a lip that the legs mount in

so they're sending me the legs for it, but its a matter of waiting now. i was just wondering if in the mean time if its bad if i run the lights just sitting on top til i get them. what do u think? is that too hot directly on the plastic framing on top? would it get to much moisture that close..anything like that. or just for the temporary of a few days would it be ok
