He was @ the store for about 3 weeks before I took him home. I did not quarentine this fish due to what I have read about how fragile they are. Thats why I let him live at the store for a while.

anyway... I got him landed yesterday and he is doing extremely well eating aptasia ... and thats it. He was taking Mysis @ the LFS but he does not seem to know what to do with it when I feed it to him.

I am contemplating trying mussles. Have many people had luck with this? What other foods are good for them. I really like this fish but I'm little worried. I know it is onlt the second day.

What do you feed your copperband?

I had a flagfin angel (often picky eaters) that was very skinny when I got him, and not very interested in frozen foods. Someone suggested trying mussels, and it worked like a charm. If you have a market nearby where you can get live mussels, try feeding one in the half shell, hopefully it'll work as well for you as it did for me.

its not that uncommon for a fish not to eat the first day or two, when switching tanks. mussels is a good idea though...maybe try some garlic with your mysis

I kinda thought the same thing. Thanks. Makes me feel a little better.

Do the mussles have to be live or would frozen work?

I had a copperband too!

I had a copperband too!

I was really careful when I got my copperband. I had had one previously in my fish only tank. To be honest both of mt copperbands were tempted by defrosted frozen food. Just the same as I feed all of my other fish. Knowing how fragile they can be, I was careful to check that it was compatible with the livestock I already had. Unfortunately, my flame angelfish decided he was not happy with this intruder and within 24 hous, my copperband sadly died from stress. It was unfortunate because these fish are supposedly compatible. But we learn........

I'm sorry to hear that, ckrhone. I know that copperbands are very fragile and difficult fish to keep. I am really going to do my best as this is for sure the hardest fish I have tried.

Seems my clown is kinda on his case, but not too bad. My lawnmower gave him a beating as well but that is because the copperband was poking around in his hole not knowing who lived there.

I think if he makes it past the 2 week mark, then I'll feel a little more comfortable. I'm going to go and get some mussles tommorow.

Here is a pic of "the new guy". Sorry it's HUGE and a little blurry.
