After my 80 gallon crashed (someone overfed my tank while I was out of town. Green hair alge exploded everywhere.) I decided to use this opportunity to upgrade and go inwall.
I ordered a 240 gal from MRC 8'x2'x2' about a week ago. Now I am looking for a little advice.
My last tank was very simple 2-250w MH, 2-65w t-5 actinics, MR-2 skimmer, Mag 7 return.
I want a mixed reef slightly SPS dominant. I was thinking about a bare bottom setup. I need some suggestions for lighting and equipment.
For lights im not sure if I should use 4 MH 2 250w 2 400w or if i could use 3 with the 400w in the middle on a lumanarc reflector.
For circulation I am going to drill 4 returns across the back of the tank at the bottom and possibly one at each end. All powered by a reef flow, barracuda.
Inside the tank I was thinking of one or two Vortecs.
Im also using a 55 gal sump/fuge and seperate RO/DI holding and mixing tanks.
Thats what I have sofar but would love some suggestions and ideas.
