I am in the process of cleaning out my basement for a re-organization and utilisation improvement. We are planning a TV room with a 210 gallon tank and adjacent tank room.
To call the current condition of the room a pig sty would be an insult to a perfectly nice family of pigs occupying said sty.
Anyway, I found an old (maybe even 5 year old) bucket of Tropic Marine salt. Sometime around then I switched to I.O. The top was pretty tight and the bag was twisted shut pretty well.
When I am making up water for the big sump and for some water changes I was thinking about using this. I am switching over to another brand of salt following some research (Bio Sea Marine Mix).
Is there any harm in using this old half bucket? Does anything magical (I.E.: Bad) happen to salt when it sits for that long?
