So what's with Photobucket?

So hear I am, minding my own business when BLAMMO!, I start getting pounded with Microsoft Virus warnings like crazy this morning!!!!

Long story short, I've isolated it down to Photobucket. The fault only re-occurs when I'm in that application.

Every time I reboot & launch Photobucket to retrieve IMG codes, the same warning pops up, and it's ONLY Photobucket.

What gives? Anybody else having Issues with this host? Now I can't even log on to that site.

What ASP's are other’s using that are RELIABLE??

i had the same thing happen this morning... spent 2 hours going through my computer trying to figure it out before i narrowed it down to their site... no good as i have hundreds of pics on there, many of which i dont have on personal storage anymore

Shah! I just went back in adn it seemed to have settled down.

BTW - I called my IT boys adn they said to NOT select their Anti-Virus prompt and that THAT itself MAY have been a Virus.

It freaked me out! I've never seen that before. It looked VERY Legit!

i run firefox... never had a chance to click anything before the browser shut down on its own... i dont know if thats a precaution built into firefox or if it was the error that caused to browser to shut down... either way, i dont seem to have any permanent side effects from it

There is a virus called Downadup/Conficker/Kido... it's been going pretty strong this week, last I looked it had infected like 10 million PCs. One of the things it does it pop up fake anti virus messages and try to get you to download other things.

Hopefully you didnt get that one, but it sounds like it could be.

I've never had that problem with Photobucket before but it's one I'll watch out for!

Some people like to use Flickr as a photo hosting site too.

Same thing happened to me. Have to get it fixed through the manufacture.

Antivirus360????

Says its the worst virus ever.

Dont put your credit card number in !
Its a VIRUS!

The virus was designed to get access to your credit card and DRAIN your account.

I would advise everyone reading this would find a new image hoster!

Get a Mac

If that's the case then please just give me the virus :p

Funny while I was reading this thread, my NAV popped up with a warning that it just isolated "Infostealer". No idea where it came from..

From what I read it was being spread by the USB flash drives. When you plugged it in a Windows like window would open and ask if you wanted to look at all the files, explore, or something of that sort. When you clicked yes" it would load the Virus.

That may be different than the Photobucket thing. Sufice it to say I woundn't open, install, or download ANYTHING that pops up unless you know exactly what it is.
