So whos all coming to the meeting this Sunday?

waverz

Slave to the reef!
Just trying to get an idea on the turnout.....

I know we have quite a few new members, it would be a good time to meet them and make them feel welcome.

I'm pretty excited to hear Mitch explain how corals "do it"

;)

I was planning on it, but I have only 8 more days to be out of my house so we are moving all weekend. I am sure it will be a good one.

we had something come up here so I can't fricking make it- I really wanted to come too!! Waverz - if you want to leave my membership card with someone local that would be fine.... not sure who is going....

man I can't wait until we sell our fricking house!!!

Well if any locals want to car pool let me know gas prices are just out of freekin control.

Let me be the first to say (I think), what a great presentation. I am ashamed to say I did not know Corals reproduced sexually with eggs and sperm! And to boot, Mitch was quite humorous. The information he presented was well worth the trip.

I also want to thank GIRS for a great drawing and for including me as I went for audio visual equipment. I especially want to thank everyone for waiting until I returned to begin!

I now have a bunch of Weiss stuff. Does anyone have recommendations on what of this stuff is useful. I am not familiar with any of it except the black powder.

Brad, you had told me what the frag was from Alan, But I was too disoriented with everything going on. So Alan, Brad or anyone else: was it a Rose Millepora?

it was a good presentation. You guys that didn't make it missed out.

Yup, we gave a ton of stuff away and I know I learned a ton! And I even scored a free frag. Just goes to show going to meetings makes the $20 membership fee pay for itself....I feel bad for you guys that never come, your defiantly missing out, but oh well more free stuff for the rest of us.

some of us do have to WORK screwy hours unfortunately. I had to work last night but would have loved to have been able to be there.

He brought back 42,000 Acropora Palmatta larvae from Puerto Rico and 4200 actually became corals. They started with 2,000,000 eggs. So I guess the answer is yes, but they don't use test tubes, they used 2 liter pop bottles and igloo coolers!

VERY COOL!

Anyone, please correct my numbers or terms if I am too far off.

Joel,
It was either Rose Millepora or Pink Millepora. I don't know the difference between the two. You would have to ask CoralFreak to be sure.
