added a 3lb piece of uncured rock to my tank... 2 weeks later and have lost the following to ich: yellow tang, singapore angel, flame angel.

water testing perfect across the board. What the hell? grrrrr:mad2:

i doubt it was the rock, espically in that big of a tank. Ive added like 8 pounds or so of uncured to my tank and nothing. Did your temp or salinity rapidly change, cause that could cause some stress.

Ich can come in on LR. Learned this the hard way. I got some live rock from a fellow reefer breaking down his tank. I never thought to look at his fish but within 12 hrs of adding the lr to my tank my 8 yr old yellow tang was scratching, and showing white spots in 24 hrs. Thankfully I found Ich attack (just dose twice as long as directed). Ich can stay dormant for 4 wks.

Yeah I went through the same problem when I work at a LFS. The Ich was hiding out in the LR. We eventually had to take all the LR and Sand out and flush the system with freshwater and re-fill will new LR and sand. It was a pain is the ***. Im sorry to hear about this. Did you get the LR from a store or friend?

purchased at lfs. I believe the ich was present already though. Would a product like ich attach be safe to inverts and my remaining two tank raised percs?

Ich is a parasite that thrives on the slime coat of fish which are under some stress. Remove the stress and usually the fish get rid of the Ich. Do you have a pair of cleaner shrimp? Go to your LFS and ask if they have any liquid garlic. Soak a sheet of nori in the garlic and then put it in the tank for the tangs and angels to eat. The parasites supposedly dont like the smell or taste or something to do with the garlic and let go. Plus the fish love it and if happier are less stressed.

So true! I added some caulerpa to a FO tank I had many years ago. My very healthy and active 3 year old powder blue was covered in ich within days.

I have one cleaner too and he rarely comes out. I am told that they are much more prominent when in pairs. They will clean off parasites and the fish will line up like at the car wash. They are pretty cheap. Go buy two or three.

GET ICH ATTACK!!!! Organic, natural, safe for inverts and works like a charm (in petsmart with the freshwater meds). Well at least it worked for me (I did dose it for twice as long). Check your water and do a water change.
