Soft Coral Reef Tank

I am about to set up a 75 gallon soft coral reef tank. This system will only contain soft corals, zoanthids and cleaning Inverts. Do you need to acclimate corals with this type of system? and is there a chance of having an outbreak of disease if the paramters of the water is kept within limits? Do you need to have fish with a reef system?

You should acclimate ALL coral. If you dont you can stress the coral in return can cause a disease outbreak. Its a good idea to setup a seperate quarentine tank to monitor for disease and pests for coral, inverts, and fish. After a few weeks if all seems good, add it to your display tank.

Quarantine Tank

What size tank should I use to quarantine new soft corals? Should I have a UV on my main tank? I just recieved my T-5 lighting kit yesterday. I still have to finish cleaning out my 75 when I used it as a plant tank. I will try to take some pictures to show my progress but it may take awhile before the pics are on here since I do not have a digital camera.

I would recommend the QT tank be 10g. or bigger. As for UV the light from what i have read they should only be used on an already established setup. I would check up on that. Have you ever chemically treated your 75 gallon plant tank when it was setup?
