Nice tank & pics..How's the trigger with your softies and shrimp?

Have not had any issues at all. Thought long and hard about adding him, and finally decided to take the plunge. He shares his nightly cave with a coral banded shrimp. Its the file fish that has causes the only real headaches, he has a taste for zoas. Thus I have none.

What are all of the different types of softies you have in there? Some of them have colors I have not seen before.

I love that colt coral, it looks very healthy.

Ive always loved colts, they absolutely thrive. The one on right was only 4 inches tall with three branches, and at almost a year old it is almost 3 ft tall. I swear by these corals. I have kept LPS and SPS in the past and enjoyed them, but the ease of softies really has me sold on em. Need to go out of town, lagging behind on the water changes. Softies can take it all.

They are all very common and not to exciting.

Tank Size is 160 gallon

No skimmer
run two filstar rena 4,s
2x175 14k metal halides
2x 60" vho actinic supplemental lighting
and I change 20 percent of the water once every 3 months. (sometimes longer)
I change the carbon in each filter once a month. Other than that I dont add calcium, or any other chemical, just top off water from the water mill. I used to go crazy over all the new gadgets out there in this hobby, but Ive learned less is more in this hobby and found the less I mess with this tank the better it does.

They host, and wont leave it unless food is in the water.

Devils Hands are great Ive never seen two alike, so you can really add some new shapes, w/o going broke.

are you not worried about the trigger eating your fish?

He has been as of yet the model tank mate. He even leaves the inverts alone. Quite a few people keep them and exp varies form to fish to fish, but generally the niger is not a bothersome fish given the tank is large enough, and you keep em well fed.
