Softies no happy

I posted this 6 days in the Reef section but didn't get any response.

ORA Grube's Gorgonian and the a ORA Neon Green Sinularia.
They have been in the tank for some time and were always open. Always happy.

I added two new corals about a week ago and now none of them open. I added a Purple Stereonepthya sp. And a very Green Toadstool leather.

I've done a water change and replaced the media I use and no real change. The Toadstool opened for a day and the Gorgonian has showed some polys at times but never fully.

Nothing else seems effected coral wise. Zoa, mushrooms and Clam all seem fine.

Any suggestions? It's been over two weeks now.

I'm thinking of moving the Toad Stool to a bucket for a few days to see if anything changes, if not move the Stereonepthya sp.

It's only a 14 gallon tank with rock so maybe they don't like each other.

Try running a good quality activated carbon to remove any chemicals being released by your corals. Stay away from the cheap carbons like Kent. That and check your water parameters.

I changed the Chemi-Pure Elite, Purigen and Seachem Matrix Carbon two days ago.

I've done a few 1/2 tank water changes as well. Nothing really changes.

Just an update because I though the results were interesting.

I forgot I had a BioCube 8 with a Rapidled setup they used to prototype a new kit.

I filled the 8 gallon with water from the old tank and moved the Stereonepthya sp over. After 24 hours no change in the main tank.

So I moved the two little Toads over and within an hour I had polyp extension on the Sinularia. Within 4 hours the Gorgonian had a few popping up as well.

This morning with the lights off both were still open. I'm going to give it some time to make sure they are happy again, then move a toad back and see what happens.

I may try moving the Stereonepthya sp back as I've never seen it open and it's now with the Toads.
