Hey guys, what is a reasonable size tank to keep a sohal tang, they are really nice, and i heard they are mean. i plan to upgrade to a 240 soon, and once i do, would it be ok to add one?

these are the fish i would like to keep in the 240.

humu trigger
clown trigger

emperor angel
queen angel

achilles tang
sohal tang

H tusk

snowflake eel

i already have the 2 triggers, and emp angel, as well as the snowflake

I see a few problems. You will have 2 very aggressive Tangs. And Achilles are very problematic. Speaking from someone who has one, Beautiful fish, Just needs extra care. I have one Achilles, And regal Angel in the same tank. Both of which Are almost a full time job. IMO Your Queen Angel might bully your emperor angel too.

Like Woodywoo said I would skip the Achilles, specially if you want a Sohal tang. Also the Queen will probably attack the Emperor specially as time goes on and the Queen gets much larger. Also I wouldn't place the HTusk with the 2 Triggers, specially the Clown Trigger. Even though HTusk are aggressive eaters they can be bullied and attacked by a large trigger, specially a Clown Trigger.

Sohal tang does get very large and usually aren't a problem until they get to the 8"+ range and then they start to be real problems. The fish that you have with them should be fine.

I would not keep any other tang with a Sohal. Those are MEAN suckers. Mine killed my Red Sea Sailfin. So now he is the lone Tang in my tank and it's going to stay that way.

I have a 7in Sohal in my 300 gallon with 3 other tangs and he doesn't even pay notice. Great looking fish just make sure he is the last fish in or get a small one.

I agree that you should skip the achillies. they need a lot of care. I've seen woodywoo's and it takes up a lot of his time. The sohal will be fine in a tank that size. I kept the one I had in a tank with a lot of other tangs before the hurricane knocked out my power for 2 days.
James.
