I now have 6 solid white mushrooms.. I started with 2 and began propagating....I have 3 under 10000k halides, and the other three under 20000k halides..No color chang in the last three months that I have had them...They just popped up out of a peice of live rock.....Has this ever happened before, or have I stumbled upon somthing new...Pics available upon request...Serious inquiries only.....I currently keep and propagate over 60 species of corals..and have been if anyone is interested....Bitis316@yahoo.com

I doubt they'll move it since he only has one post and you're required to have 50 before you can post in the selling/trading forums. They'll probably just edit it.

I'd like to see some pics as well though. Never seen a pure white shroom that wasn't turning into a pile of goo =P

you mean its bleached? photosynthetic corals cannot naturally come in white. they are bleached and growing by way of disolved nutrients. i wouldnt suggest selling them as youre going to have some unhappy customers after they die from lack of nutrients or they color up brown in the right lighting.

Responce to White Mushroom critisism

The mushrooms are white, I currently have 1 rock that continously reproduces.....white mushrooms...Directly under 250watt 20000k halides. but I assure you it is not because of the lighting or nutrients in the tank.. My family and I have been doing this for over twenty years, and we own a propagation facility in the keys...So thanks for your input, but I assure you it's not the quality of the tank. There is also plenty of Manganese in my systems... So bleaching should not be a problem..Nor has it ever been a problem with any of my corals..i am stumped, I just got Julian Sprung's email from Dr. Lewbart at NCSU school of Vet medicine aquatics department were I attend, so I will send them there..Thanks again for everyones advice
