No i mean a single DI unit. i know that there are single RO units, but what about DI units. I was told there were, but i searched and did see such thing.
DI has a very limited capacity so is not cost effective in almost all situations. It takes the RO to remove the first 98% of the contaminants so DI will function properly and last more than 25 gallons or so. In my case here in Phoenix a 1 pound or 16 oz DI filter would last 2 1/2 gallons with an incoming TDS of 780. Pretty expensive at $10 to $15 a refill!
