Ok here is what I get and dont I understand how to setup my HT tank I need right now for the fish and get them going being medicated, also know about the PVC fittings in there for places to hide and the tyration levels of the copper. what I am still quite unsure about is how long on copper as I know its not the best for the fish either or is the low dose ok the entire time or is there a day or week schedule I should run this copper for, also no charcoal can be used in the filtration of the HT tank correct. the display will stay empty of fish for 12 weeks as 8-10 is what i see recomended but would rather be safe. also water quality I know must be watched carefully in the HT, is a small LED ok to put there or just ambiante like the best. also everything I new so I will be cleaning with extremely hot water should I use anything at all during cleaning and wiping it all down with white vinegar is recommend before setup correct. please help me out here I dont wanna add more stress or make things harder or do it wrong please help. I suggest cupramine at .4 ppm. Salifert test kits work great. The treatment should be minimum of 30 days, 45 is better if the fish handle it. Make sure you have established bio filtration, never use prime or alike products with copper.

Perfect that is what I have and the setup is running just getting ready to dose the copper and thank you for the length of time to run them on copper at 30 days I will check em and see how they are looking and if still active healthy and a good appetite I will contiune to 45 and watch em day by day. is a small LED with not much power ok to use on it or should I just go with ambient light

Small light or ambiet is fine. Depends on your preference for veiwing.
ok cause they will get some ambient light where there are in the and an its a small 4 bulb LED for like a Betta tank so just for some light in the evening to monitor there behavior a little first time doing this in a reef and Saltwater, Fresh water was definitely easier in this aspect LOL

Correct, no carbon during treatment but can be used to remove the copper later on.

You have to re-dose Cupermine 48 hours after your first dose. Two days after you have dose the QT, test the water. I found there was only a small trace of copper left in the water and had to re-dose the QT, as the instructions on the lable indicate. Don't do 1/2 dose as I understand Ich can build a resistance to the copper, so always dose at full strenth and keep testing to make sure it does not drop, especially after WC. Do not use any other medications or ammonia buffers. No sand and no LR in the QT, just bare bottom with some PVC, no carbon. Just to clarify, ich does not build up resistance to copper, and its highly recommended to do half doses and even quarter doses. When dealing with large and dwarf angle fish, the coppet must be raised over the course of 5 days or so.
One more quick question I have noticed at eh LFS and on pictures of your guys equipment all your nets scrubbers equipment exc. are stored in a liquid solution, is this necessary and is it a bleach or vinegar solution or just water. I take it storing them dry is an issue. also I bought new nets and scrubbers for the HT/Future QT tank and will keep them separated.

The solution your talking about is most likely net soak. We use it at the store. Basically just M. Green. In your case just have separate nets/ collection cups for dt and ht. Wet before using. Bleach equipment only after a hospital treatment is done and fish are moved to display.

Let me re-word what I meant. I've never tested this in a lab, so who knows. If the copper treatment is too low the more resilient parasites MAY not be affected and continue going through their life stages. I've had fish with Ich and treated successfully with copper, so it definitely works. I've never had to treat more sensative fish like angles, but it would make sense to slowly raise the dosing for them over a period of time.

Assuming fish are eating (if an eating fish stops, it can be the first sign of copper intolerence. You can remove come copper (carbon, etc. and restart the clock when he's eating again). and not in need of urgent care; I always take about 4 days to get to .35-.40 ppm of Cupramine. Ammonia is often a big enemy in a HT/QT. Most ammonia tests dob't work with copper, the little stick-on badges do. Do you have a plan to deal with ammonia/ Cycled media, lots of water for WCs, etc?

You biggest concern is ammonia and then must less nitrite.
What is your plan to keep ammonia very low?

I have a meter on ammonia so I have been doing some research on the cardinals and clown on there diet and trying to come up with a feeding plan to help with that and monitoring salinity closely an water changes as needed, I have heard that the ammonia disk you put in the tank can be good as they work and some test I have heard don't work which im finding is the chem test so working on which and do strip test work. This is my fist Ich in saltwater so I know this is the point Im working on now!
