I moved some frags from my QT tank to my DT a little over 3 months ago. These frags were showing a little color and a tiny bit of growth, however the parameters were definitly off a bit in that tank. However, in my DT, I have undectable nutrients, stable alk at 8dkh, 420ppm cal, mag at 1350 and no pests on these frags (dipped them in revive to make sure). The frags I'm speaking of are brown and show NO growth in my DT. Yet, in the same DT I have an acropora convexa which is flamboyant red which I'll have to trim shortly, a deep purple tort reaching the top of the waterline, a beautiful undata plating all over.. etc you get the picture. My main hypothesis was that since the colonies from which these frags came were wild, they might just not be adapting properly to captivity, however I've seen other specimens in friend's tanks that came from the same respective colonies that are thriving. Did I just **** them off so bad they haven't recuperated for 3 months? If so, how long might it take?
Any hypothesis is welcome.
