What I will have at the swap on the 28th

Everyone has been wanting to know when these would be available and the time has finally come :)

True Purple People Eaters (Pics will be posted later this week)

You need to know that PPEs only look like the coveted pictures you have all seen under extreme actinic or under 14-20K lighting, or in shadow zones. To get the intense purple they require lower K AND they need to be allowed to mature IMO it seems the older a PPE gets the more intense it seems to become.

If you want to see what they look like under 10K 50/50 mix look in the display tank at the shop (NOT FOR SALE STOP BUGGING THE MAN LOL). I gave Barry 1 about 2 months ago which has tripled in that time it is not as bright as the ones in my tank though. I run more blue in my actinic 460 nm which bring out the color nicely, even red PEs look nice under it IMO.

All that said the current price is $70 a polyp. I only have 2 Polyps that will be ready by the swap and several have expressed interest. To be fair about it it's first come first serve. They are encrusted and are not fresh cuttings that have been quickly glued. These guys took me way to long to get so I will not be dicing them up just to make a few bucks. My hope is to pay for the colony and let them grow out. In the past several months, this has quickly become my favorite palythoa!

As long as you have a good healthy system with plenty of light I have no doubt they will do fine and reward you with many PPEs in short time.

Also planning on having some Blue Orgasm" Zoas I just love these names. Here are some pics of them:

http://www.zoaid.com/index.php?module=Gallery2&g2_itemId=3374

I will only have one frag of these available by the date about 2 polyps on a plug.

Will also have some Red PEs as my colony is getting huge now and encroaching on some other zoas. Those will be $10 a polyp if anyone is interested. I will only have 5 or 6 polyps of those.

I will have several frags of "wamming watermelon" zoanthids as well. 3-4 polyps at $25.

Radioactive Green Dragon eye zoas (not Phils) 5 polyps for $25

There will be a lot more zoas there as I have started colecting and culling out colonies for my system, a more extensive list with pics will be posted in a few days so stay tuned.

Also will have a few more surprises for everyone, I advise everyone to be there if you miss this one you will hate yourself ;)

Again Pics will be posted later this week.

Looking forward to it! I want some Red PE's, Whammin Watermelons, and Radioactive Dragon Eyes. Of course I WANT a PPE, but I do not have the money, nor do I think my lighting is suitable to house them in just yet.

Next ones will be a bit smaller.

Ron those are some really nice pictures.

What is the difference between the Whammin Watermellons and Eagle Eyes? They look really similar to me. Does the watermellons have a more red center? Because I think I have seen them also named Red Eagle Eyes.

The only difference I can see is the length of the frills on the Eagles seem to be way thinner and longer Phil, but Im not sure. They do indeed have an inner ring that is a strange mix of red, pink and orange Im not sure what color to call it but it does remind you of a watermelon LOL especially under actinics.

Ron, your candy canes look way different than mine...mine are always very inflated anf fat looking...is it because you have more closer together? I only have 2 heads. Mine are also green.

Brock not sure what particular Candy this is. Everyone who has a frag swears it grows faster than any other they have seen. Personally I think it has slowed down a bit this past year. In it's first year it went from 4 heads to over 20. It got so big it fragged itself and that was the only time I had some of it for trade or sale.

Thanks I used the Kodak DX6490 for both pics and stills, it's an old camera but gets the job done in the end. The video is great here but I had to compress it for the web. BTW Im thinking of making a run of these coral cards to give out with each coral purchase as a quick care sheet.

Like I don't have enough to do.

ORA Green Sarco is $50 2nd generation encrusted frag. It may be taken already though, I'll update the list later before the swap.

We may have one 1/4 inch frag of GARF Bonsai and a 1/4 inch frag of Tyree LE Tri-color all from Atlantis. If anyone is interested they are $100 each. I recommend these only to serious SPS enthusiasts who have experience keeping such coral.

BTW I plan on giving out these cards at the swap and think we can come up with a general template to pass out to new hobbyists sort of a care sheet.

I finally got these guys back in my tank at home after having to keep them at the shop in the display tank till we got the Blue Devil Fish (Hippo) out of our 120, she was eating them. I made two small frag of these guys before returning them to there rightful home and thats all there will be for a while.

Don't Laugh I did not name these but did have them authenticated as the real thing by zoa experts. Funny thing is I dont even know where they originally came from. I do know I started with about 4 or 5 polyps of them about 3 years ago.

Yes Brock watch if you have one those fish can and will eat coral if they get a taste for it. It killed a clam, attacked blastomusa, green candy, these zoas, cespitularia, red cynarina and countless many others that had to be rescued to the display tank. The clam and blue xenia did not survive.

Oh. Well maybe i'm in the clear then, because I have a clam that is growing quite well, green candy canes, and various zoas. It won't even eat red kelp...
