WOW! yeah... I'll be at the next frag swap you show up to. Those candy apples are amazing. I think it's so cool that there are still so many zoas and other corals I still haven't seen.

thanks for the kind words!! i will try to take some more here in the next week or so, as well as some goodies out of the frag tank that i dont have room in the display for!

Where is the candy and do you have a pic of the pink tipped acro I gave you?I just lost the mother colony.

OOPS!!! i reorganized my photobucket albums and i changed the location of the pictures. i will have this fixed later tonight!! and yes i still have that acro, its pretty slow growing but is starting to bud in a few places.

tried to organize one but got shot down, OMAS has a "frag drive" and not a frag swap. whos to stop us from having one not sponsored by OMAS though!?!?

We have had frag swaps in the past.I don't know if many remember but the last one caused a fair amount of bad blood between the clubs. Some of the people didn't make sure their frags were pest free.I know and others know to always treat your corals before you bring them into your display but others didn't and got pests.I am all for doing one again and I wouldn't ever shoot that idea down.I love frag swaps!

Well let's set some dipping ground rules then. There should also be rules about not "selling" frags. the beauty of the swap is that people shouldn't be trying to make money off of frags, only share with one and other to grow everyone's reefs. I think it would be really fun to spend some time during each meeting swapping frags. JJ - How about you make up the rules, then bring the rules to the meeting on 8/20, then the meeting in Sept will be the first meeting where we can bring frags to swap? deal?

how frag swaps usually work, is people meet at a general location, like a hotel event room or something... and OMAS actually has access to the Tulsa Zoo's event room, which would be a fun place to do this! but i digress... people come to the location the morning of the swap and set up a tank less than 30 gallons, with lights over it so the corals have time to open up and polyp out, so you can see exactly what your trading for. the selling is just if you want to buy and not trade. even if there are sellers at the swap, the corals are sold and deeply discounted rates because you're buying from a hobbyist and not a store

not coral, but my male exquisite was strutin his stuff to the glass today, the electric blue streaks are very hard to capture, he swims very very fast with fins fully extended and pulses electric blue.
