Some fish that actually swim for 60g cube

Looking to add some stuff to my 60g cube. My 22 month old daughter loves looking at fish whenever we go to stores, but daddy's tank is boring. All my fish either hide, or sit on the bottom.

Currently have:

Two Ocellaris clowns. These two live in a big frogpawn, and unless it's feeding time, you'd never even know they were in the tank.

Yellow Watchman Goby. He shares a large burrow system with a tiger pistol shrimp. Unfortunately all of the exits are in the back of the tank, so you rarely see them.

Midas Blenny. He has a PVC cave a I built and another cave. He swims when you're not near the tank, but will dart into either hole whenever you're near.

So basically my tank has no action. I'd like to add two, maybe three fish that actually will swim around. Open to pretty much anything. Thanks.

Maybe a Dartfish and chromis. Or three Anthias?

Zebra dartfish are an excellent choice.

I would think perhaps a small Angel fish... Like a Flame or Flameback. They are always moving in and about the rocks. You could find a juvenile Belus or Watanbei and grow it out in your tank.

Any of the different cardinals that are available - These are out in the water and don't go into the rocks.

Some of the smaller damsels are well behaved and colorful - Kupang, Springeri, Traceys, Stegassi

Thanks for the advice so far. Hmm, never considered a damsel. The Chrysiptera springeri looks nice. They aren't as aggressive as other damsels? Maybe one of those and a fairy or flasher wrasse to round out the tank.

I always love the way the six line wrasse weaves in and out of rocks. Very active and interesting fish. Not too expensive and appropriately sized for tank.

dont consider a damsel, they'll get to big and bully all your other fish. you'll end up seeing them even less

i would choose dartfish if i were you, they're always swimming but may still hide if they're new to the tank. you should try sitting by the tank while you're eating/working so the fish can get used to your presence a bit more

A Wrasse or Pygmy Angel would be my vote.

Not sure if they would hide in your tank but I'd consider chalk bass, Royal Gramma

I have a black axil chromis in my 60g and he is very active near the top. If your tank is covered, wrasses tend to cruise around. In my experience dartfish were shy and hide a lot. I had a Starki Damsel in my 60 that was well mannered and active. Also had a chalk basslet which was out in the open, good fish.

Flasher wrasses are always out swimming around and most don't need too much room. My red line wrasse isn't as colorful but she's always swimming in and out of the rock work looking for food.

I have a red-headed fairy wrasse male that I picked up. Very interesting color profile and fairly active. And he's always flashing with my royal gamma. check videos on youtube.

Thanks everyone. I have a pygmy angel coming tomorrow. Once he's out of quarantine I'll probably get a flasher wrasse or two and that will be it.
