Some guidance please

Hi all, I have 2 questions, and please be easy on me, I'm a bit of a noob at SPS still.

First off, my first SPS corals were montis, I had an M. digitata as my very first, and shortly after got 3 different caps together (now have 5 different caps), and when I first got my montis, their polyp extension was very nice, but now they have little to no extension. The digitata has some, but the caps have none at all for the most part. I have seen no recession in any of them, and all still have fantastic growth, but no extension. Is this a reason for concern? And is there anyway I can return them to normal?

Second, I just got back from vacation, only to find 2 frags touching, and they have some bleached parts, but they're already starting to heal, but one frag I found face down on the sandbed, despite having tons of epoxy, with a good chunk of it bleached. I haven't seen much change in the amount that is dead/bleached for the 3 days I've been back, but it went from bright blue to a light brown color. I'll post a pic, and was just wondering, is there something I can do to make sure it comes back, and make it do so faster? It was one of my favorite corals before the incident, and would like to restore it to it's former glory ASAP.

And all water params are good (Just changed the water today)

Thanks in advance.

Could you post your parameters? What lights, water flow, filtration like GFO, carbon dosing? Anything about your system.

And a coral in the sand bed will eventually bleach/stn. No doubt about it. So that's out of your control really.

Phos: 0
Nitrate: slightly over 0
calc: 425
Alk: 8
Mag: 1400
pH: 8.1
Temp: 78

90g tank, 2x250w halides, 15k XM bulbs, no carbon or GFO only thing being dosed is 2 part for alk/calc, 1700 GPH of koralias, ~900 GPH return pump.

So the acro is basically bound for death then? Cuz I've had corals fall in the sand before make a comeback, but I don't know how long this one was there, because I was on vacation.

Your parameters are good. And you can save the coral in the sandbed, just frag the healthy part or else if you leave it there it will die. That's all that I was saying. Oter than that, I'm not sure why your monti's have no PE, maybe jus give them some time.

I find it that when my Nitrates go up my Montis are doing much better. I recently had a Nitrate spike and all my Montis are doing really great. My Acros are doing ok. When my Nitrates to down to near zero, then my Montis don't do as well and my acros are fine. That's just my tank. Hope this helps.
