Some ideas for feeding my Blueline Angel

I acquired a 4-5 inch blueline angelfish a couple weeks ago. The place I bought the fish was feeding flakes and mysis with no apparent problems the fish reportedly "ate everything". When I first started feeding the fish I tried small Hikari mysis and regular sized PE mysis.....no way. It would pick at some nori and an occasional flake or two. I really dislike prepared foods but will use them when necessary. The fish really started to lose wieght and I was fearing for a turn towards the worst. Then I started introducing live clams from the Publix......bingo. Amazing to watch this fish go at 'em. Fish is fat and looking great.......but having to go to the store every few days for clams is annoying.

So I'm looking to see if anyone had any similar experiences and what they have been able to get their Blueline Angels eating? Thanks in advance.

Chances are good that if your fish eat live clam, it will eat frozen clam as well. Buy a couple pounds of live clam, wash them clean and freeze them. You can feed thaw clams to your fish.
It's actually a good idea to feed fish previously frozen clams instead of live ones because live ones may contain unknown bacteria and such.

Thanks. Got and have tried all those food choices. I was just wondering if anyone else had similar difficulties and used some trick to lure them into switching. Guess I'll just keep feeding clam until it switches over.

Forgot to mention though how much it loves hair algae. My QT had built quite a bit of it up from the nitrates and old lighting at I let it run for several weeks without any inhabitants. The BL cleared what I would guess amounted to an adult handful of it in about a day and a half. With I could that stuff better.
