My tank is afflicted by some fish disease. Looks like ich but I am not sure at this point. Started about 10 days back. I have added several fish over the last few weeks that I got from a LFS and that were all doing well there. The fish had been in the store for almost 2 weeks isolated for me when I got them. So they were all healthy and the LFS runs copper. I noticed ich like spots on one of the wrasses when I placed him in the tank. However it was too late and I could not get him out. Since then I have lost all the new fish I added. Fish develop white spots then get covered in it and lose color. Also slimy stuff comes off their body. I also lost a red scooter that I added 2 months ago that was actually looking very healthy and 2 mollie millers. Today I lost my 5 year old clown. I have attached a video. I am not sure what it is I have. I have been medicating the tank with all the Dr. G's medicated fish food for parasites and bacteria. Initially the fish ate it but now they are not interested. At this point I am beyond frustrated and saddened to see my fish dying. I have an old yellow tang and bellus angel who are so far ok but I am afraid they will go too. Can anyone figure out what this is. I will need to set up a QT tank for the future but thought the QT at the fish store was sufficient.

If you buy fish from an LFS that runs copper, you must observe them for a minimum of 4 weeks in quarantine. The longer a fish is at an LFS, the higher the probability it will contract a parasite. That being said, sounds like velvet. Please read the stickies. The treatment of choice is CP for all fishes.

I have been doing Dr. G's which I think has CP. However it does not seem to be doing the job.

Do I have to assume that all my fish will die? I am at a loss as to what to do at this point.

Unless you remove your fish to a dedicated hospital tank and treat properly, it's a possibility. Velvet can wipe out a tank in days. NLS makes a product called Ick-Shield Powder (CP) that would be effective, but it should not be dosed into the DT.

Whatever I got is killing all my fish, I suspect velvet but cannot be sure. I lost my 4 year old bellus angel this am too. Now the only old fish I have left is my yellow tang and mag fox face and a few wrasses/blennies. I would expect these to go too. Tried capturing the fish to quarantine them over the weekend without luck. This has been a tragedy beyond belief! Have read about it in other posts but could never imagine how bad and painful this can be. How do I determine what I have? I have the bellus on ice at present.
