I got a healthy quarterly profit sharing check from work last week and blew it all on cam gear. The first of two packages arrived today, with the other one scheduled for tomorrow. :)

You got a fat quarterly cheque and you settled with Cokin grads?! Should have gone with HiTech or Singh-Ray, they are much better.

I am sure you will enjoy the MP-E65, that's the lens I wish for in my macro future, right now, the 180 is keeping me busy enough.

This was actually the second of the two orders and the money from the check was pretty much long gone. Tomorrow's box will be better :)

Wow, can't wait for pics. I've long waited to see that 65mm in action. And today is better? Wow, I'm shaking in my chair, I'm so anxious! :)

Lol- those Cokins... I bought one several years ago and it got scratched almost immediately  They're made of [soft] plastic or resin or whatever they call it. So be real careful with them.
That 65... you're gonna have some fun. It's not so easy to use as a regular macro lens but it does amazing magnification. I can't put my hands [mouse] on it right now but I got a full frame shot of a Lettuce Nudibranchs mouth- just the mouth! with the 65.

ouch @ the cokin fiasco :) I just needed a couple ND filters for a trip I'm taking next saturday and had the cokin P filter setup recommended by the guy I went to Carizzo with a couple weeks ago. I didn't really expect much for the price, but hopefully I'll at least get thru next weekend. If nothing else, I'll at least get some good trash talking back to him out of it and upgrade the filters when I have some more cash to spend. I'm very excited for the lens. Everything that I've seen with it is absolutely amazing, but based on my 2 sample pics last night, it's going to take a bit of practice for me to get used to it. Greg cough up the pic!

Ok- I'll go digging.......................................................
Found it. There's a few sensor dust specs in there but you can still see a lot of detail for such a tiny subjet.

OK talk about loading it on the truck at 5:39AM and waiting till almost sunset to actually show up. I also picked up a Tamrac backpack and a couple other B+W filters. I see what you guys are saying - I opened up the Cokin filters and looked at them and was just a *tad* disappointed to see that they are plastic!! I guess I'll never listen to my friend again; oh well I live and learn I guess. :)

And btw, there's a canon rebate right now for anyone that doesn't know - it saved me about $135.
