Some new pics

Colors are comming back after the PH spike issue. Lost some of my favorites, but these seem to have weathered the storm fairly well.
Some pics taken under 14K with actinic, some under just actinic, and some with flash.

Anemone

Anemone

Have you ever had trouble keeping the anemone in with your coral? I have a 60 SPS mainly tank and have heard that keeping an anemone in with sps is a bad idea since it can shade and sting an sps to death... Is this true? What types of anemones would be safe if any, i.e. rose, etc? By the way I love your tank, it looks great!

Its a 240g cube. His build thread was Thread of the Month on RK Mag a while back, quite the impressive system!

Its looking great man, any idea when our next big group order is going to be?

Very nice, do you mind giving more details on your system and husbandry?

Thanks,
Whiskey
Lighting is provided by 2 48" Oceanlight Pendants each with dual 250 watt DE 14K halides and dual 48" T5 actinics ATI's. Actinics are on from 8am to 11pm. Two halides are on from 3 to 7 and the second set from 5 to 9.
There are two closed loops. Each run by a Sequence Dart full throttle. One Dart is hooked up to an OM 8 way, the other to an OM 4 way. This gives me 12 alternating CL returns.
The return pump is a simple but sturdy GenX PCX 40 run through a simple 60 gallon sump.
I have a ReefTek dual chamber calcium reactor.
Scott from Aquatics Systems Designs built me a super nice recirculating skimmer that can handle a 400+ gallon tank ( I knew I'd overstock this 240 ;) )
I perform 25% water changes every 3 weeks.
I quite running my DIY Kalk reactor temporarily until I figure out a few flaws.
Tank is 99% SPS. All SPS are from either mari cultured or aqua cultured colonies, or grown from frags that I got from reefermadness or fellow hobbyists. I only have one wild harvested SPS colony. I have a large Tonga yellow leather that I have had for almost 5 years now and a nice Palau green tree nepthea that I grew from a 1" frag. A few zoanthids as well.
Fish:
Pair of Watanabe Angels
Juvenile (changing) Imperator Angel
Flame Angel
Chevron Tang
Two Yellow Tangs
Helfrichi Firefish
Mystery wrasse
Hawaiin Flame wrasse Male
9 chromis
3 Lyretail anthias
3 orange ocellaris
mated pair black ocellaris
I'm still in search of a small black tang to top off my list of fish ;)
I think that's it.

Until just this past few days, the roses were all staying put and not a problem. However, this last few days they have decided to move. Fortunately, they are not in an area that causes too much concern. I may have to start thinning them out, but I hate to. They are very pretty and definately a bright pink/red that I can't get with any other coral/invert. But, if I don't start thinning them out soon, there won't be any room for the stonies! ;)

Your tank is awsome !!!! I also have 14k in my tank 400watt though. Would you tell me what type of sps's are those long blue ones? Are they stg horns? Also where did you buy them. Thanks!!!!!

Thanks mmotown! The tall one is a blueberry staghorn. I actually purchased that as a 3" to 4" frag from a friend. It is a beauty. I has a nice royal blue base, baby blue new growth, purple coralites, with green polyps! It is growing about 1" per month in all directions with new branches starting all the time. I really like it.
The other blue acros you see are my various tortuosa's. I have the Cali tort, Oregon tort, and the ORA tort. All of which are doing very well and growing fairly quickly for 'torts' ;) The Cali and Oregon tort frags came from fellow hobbyists, the ORA tort from my LFS.
It was the blue tort that got me hooked on SPS. Its also the one that keeps me into SPS ;)
