ive been playing around more and more with my wife's little Samsung BL103 point and shoot... for a while i was really having issues getting good shots out of it... took about 250+ shots tonight, all freehand- without a tripod... here are some highlights :)

also, feel free to offer any suggestions on shooting better pics as well... i'm still a noobie with a camera :)

Nice tank and photos. Your corals look happy!

You are on the right track- just keep shooting and adjusting your manual settings (if your wife's cam has some) to find the look you want. Using a tripod will make it much easier to get things in focus - For close ups i feel it is a must.

thanks for the compliments and tips...

this camera has a manual mode... ive had the best luck shooting with ISO at 100, F7.6 or 11.0, and depending on where the subject is and how it's lit i set the shutter anywhere from 1/8 to 1/60... i still have a hard time capturing the correct color in my shots... im using the auto white balance since for some reason, manual white balance makes everything shoot really brown looking... most of my post processing of the shots is cropping and adjusting brightness and contrast... i did a little bit of work with the color tones and saturation as well just to get a more accurate representation... anything else i can do other than just keep shooting/practicing? any other suggestions?
