beautiful clams, how big is the first one?

Thanks Julio! The clam in the 1st picture is about 1 1/4" long. I've had it about 3 months, and so far, it's put on about 4mm in shell growth.

where di you get a clam that small, i would love to get some?

I found it at a store here in LA. At the time, they had a few dozen, and they were only $10 each. I've been kicking myself for not getting more.

do they bring them in on a regular basis? do they have a web site?

They get them in from time to time. I actually haven't been to the store in probably 2 months, so I don't know if they have any in stock. They do mail order. Can I post company names and numbers on this board? If not, I'll send you an email.

well is $10 dollars for babies, i am sure the ones at the store are well over two inches.

I was at the store this weekend, and they had several baby maximas in (around 1"-1.5"), but they were not very colorful. They were selling them 2 for $25. They had a lot of other nice clams too, including some blue-spot squamosas. SoCal people should check it out.
