Yeah man I am having a pretty good time. I will be back for a little while in the spring. Hopefully I will be able to make it out to a meet or something.

great pics. would you recommend honduras for a family vacation (young kids)? i've always heard of the great diving there, but don't know much else.

How young are they? The bay islands are pretty much all about diving. But if you go to Roatan, which I would recommend for kids over Utila, and stay at a resort they would probably have courses for kids. I would probably imagine it would be set up so that they could do some sort of intro to SCUBA while the parents are out diving. If they are too young to dive, less than 8, I would wait a few years. The only things to do besides dive are to take island tours, maybe go to one of the few beaches, and a few other things. They can always snorkel though. And snorkeling is great and can be done from the shore in most places.

Oh and there have been a lot of whale sharks here the past few days. I have gotten to swim with them 5 times in the last 2 days.

Can you catch one of the whale sharks, or maybe get a newborn (i think they birth live young)
I am going to start building a tank in my basement to hold it, dont worry it will be a big long circle going from my basement In bburg to Roanoke. It will be like the ones in Georgia Aquarium. Ill have it done in two days, haha
oh that would be sweet.

So do the sharks let you come up to them and then when they are tired of you just fling you off, i would be afraid of getting hit by a tail the size of a hangglider.

my biggest fish so far has been a 1200lb or so Jewfish (giant grouper) in the keys that was about the size of a VW bug. no joke longer then me with fins on.

I don't think I would have the man power to capture even a newborn one of these things. They do let you get pretty close, it all really depends on how shy the animal is. The ones I have seen have been about 35ft long. Literally bigger than the boat we were on. If you were hit by the fin it would probably just push you out of the way, unless it was really trying to swim fast, then it would do some real damage.
