Well its been an uphill struggle to be honest, its taken quite a while to get the tank sorted and running properly. I think the biggest factors were the light 20k bulb now 12.5k and flow, was around 20x and is now upto 50x

Corals are all colouring up nicely now, i had a slight blip when the fan failed while i was away and temp reached 32 C however i was lucky and only 1 corals stripped in a small area. The rest browned out however have come back quite quickly

pink hysterix was only 1 small branch when i got it back in feburary, a milli in the background that was half dead but is encrusting now

not sure on this one, an I.D would be cool but is colouring nicely

Pink Milli, starting to lighten was quite dark when i got it

not sure on this one either it browned out badly, however is going green again with pink tips

encrusting monti purple/blue with green polyps, growing really fast now and colouring

small frag from a colony that was all but dead in LFS i fragged the small bit of live coral and its now growing every well

last one, not sure what it is but this one took the damage when the tank overheated, it stripped at the bottom around an inch but has not progressed, might be a lack of flow on it as well. This one is not showing any colour at all yet

Looks like your on your way. Very nice hysterix. I think the 4th may be a Loripes.

agree with loripes, the last might be a sarmentosa, but the pic is a bit fuzzy.

the second looks to be in the nariform grouping, ie valida, nasuta, cerealis, etc.

Bottom one looks like possibly a Plana.

Its been a real learing curve but when you see the colour slowly appearing and seeing some growth makes the testing times worth while.

I think i may have been over ambitious running a 36g sps tank as my first marine, but everythig is rock solid now and doing well

Twisted, how long since you setup the 36 gal? Have a sump? What equipment are you running?

i setup the tank back last october and put the first SPS in in feburary. Orginally i did not have a sump running but added one in March, i have cheato growing in the sump and run carbon rowaphos and a protein skimmer in it.

Lighting i have a 150w 12.5k MH with 18w actincs. I want to add a calcium reactor asap because its difficult to keep up with use using 2 part additives

How many colonies are in the 36?

I have 5 colonies and 8 frags, they all have space to grow and spread, i would like a couple more frags but will let everything grow out a bit first, see what sort of growth structure they take
