Some pics from yesterday...

I actually had to pull that rock out to kill away an unwanted coral's encrusting that wouldn't die. I snipped off a little chunk for you and stuck it on a frag disc. I'll bring it with me next time I come out to Ohio.

I want to comment on how amazingly healthy your bubble algae looks. I know it is the last thing that you want to hear. I too have bubble algae but it does not seem that prolific and is not so green it has more of a pearly sheen to it and does not appear to be any where near as prolific. I am sure that there are a number of different types and I know that it probably is the result of that but do you know if there are any water chemistry things such as elevated MG levels with briopsys that impact the growth and color of bubble algae?

BTW your corals are starting to really look great as well.

Looks like you are ready for dinner with the plate of bubble algae.

Haha... yeah I know... I actually noticed a deeper color in the bubble algae after I returned from Ohio. It could've been any of a number of things that I changed before I left. I increased feedings by a lot, and also doubled my weekly amino acid dosage.

As of right now, I'm backing my feedings down to see how everything reacts. Then depending on the results, I may change my amino acid dosing or increas my Vodka dosage slightly.

The good thing is that the corals are making great progress in spite of this ongoing battle with algae.

Wow that is some of the healthiest buble algae I have ever seen. Sorry about that. I wonder I have always had buble algae but it has never really had the hold that yours has. You must be feeding it well. What is your MG level. I only wonder because the Briopsys is impacted by that I was wondering if it might slow this down or will it remain unaffected. Also lower salinity might slow this down.

I try to keep my Mag between 1400-1500 ppm. Since I got the dosing pump dialed in, it's staying steady at 1440 ppm.

In most of my reading/research it seems to just disappear on its own eventually. I'm really not going to mess with or tweak any of my water params, because everything is finally stabalized out exactly where I want it.

Some of the chalices I ended up keeping. I think I only have 3 or 4 in the tank now, which is considerably less than before. Both of these pieces were about an inch from death a few weeks ago, but have really been coloring up lately.
