thanks guys i will get an updated pic because there is a lot mor stuff in the tank now. that pic is from about a month ago i jsut never got around to loading it. tomorrw i get my MH in. what bulb would you go with i was thinking 20k. (cause my buddy has one laying around and itll be cheap) but what do you guys think the best spectrum would be for what i have?

interesting how your aquaman blues kept their black line. mine lost it and now is completely blue.

20k would make your corals "glow" all the time like the actinics are on. But you want get super fast growth with the 20k. I personally like the 14k bulbs. Not to yellow, not to blue, but that is a personal choise. If you can get a 20k for cheap go for it. You can always replace it later when you get the money. Or heck you mite love it and keep it!!

if your refering to pic 3 according to zoaid.com it is called electric skywalkers but i dont really care about the names (maybe cause i dont have all the cool one like ya'all )

if i do the 20 ks then i shouldnt have to supplement with atinics right? and if i do the 14 ks then i will have to suplement with atinics? its not a problem i have pcs but im just trying to figure how im going to set this up. and how far would you put the
MH from the water line? 1 more thing wont a 175 watt mh be a downgrade from 2x96 pc because its more watts? PLEASE EXPLAIN THESE THINGS TO ME :lol:

Go with the iWasaki 15ks. Crsip white and great growth. Best 175 out there. Watts is only a measurment of electricity consume, not be used in determining whether it is better for a coral.

hey, i cant find the 15 k iwasakis i can only find 14k and they are expensive.i bet you hate replacing those at 89.99 x 2 but its worth it. ill probably start with the 20 k and uprgrade to the 15k iwasaki when its time. i see the iwasakis have the highest ppfd values of all 175 w lamps so ill definately be getting these. where did you get yours from? thanks for your time.

I would use a some actinic 03 bulbs, but if you have the money I would get a T5 upgrade.

Yeah. You get less par, less choices in bulbs, ineffcient reflectors, quikcer bulb replacement and they cost the same (or more) than T5s
