Hi Roger.
I just picked up a 9010 skimmer from Premium Aquatics this week and set it up on my tank last night. Skimmer is running in an in-tank, rear sump compartment, set up with the extension set for in-sump operation. I do have a couple of quick questions....
1. The hole towards the top of the back side of the skimmer that water exits... I believe I've seen it said that this can be sealed. Sealed with what? Is there a doohicky, thingamabob or such that comes to mind for this purpose? Does doing so have any effect on skimmer performance?
2. Break in time. After ~12 hrs of operation, adjusting the air input seems to make no difference. Water is exiting the exhaust pipe and foam is forming in the body of the skimmer, it just isn't building any head yet. Figure it's just the normal new skimmer break-in period, so I'm wondering how long I should expect it to last?
3. How neccessary are the suction cup feet? I have the skimmer sitting on a flat acrylic platform, so it's resting on a solid, flat surface. It almost seems to sit more stably (and more level) with the suction cups removed and just resting on the four standoffs that the suction cups would attach to on the bottom of the skimmer.
Thanks in advance.
