The tank is a bit cloudy because I scraped the three viewable sides which had been almost entirely encrusted with coralline algae... There are worse algaes to have too much of, for sure. Anyhow, this tank has been running as a macro/LPS tank with only two very small fish in it. Eventually I want sea horses in it.

Before I get seahorses though, I feel like I need to nix the aptasia. Anyone have berghias? Any other solutions? I have aptasia X but they seem to keep returning.

Macros are looking sweet... Syringe needle and distilled vinegar. Get the stalk with about 1/2CC and they're gone. Works on majano also. I would not go more than about 2CC a day, not sure how big your tank is. The carbon will feed the bacteria that competes for the NO3 and PO4 your macros are after.

very pretty tank. As for aiptasia, use Aiptasia X for big ones and buy a couple of peppermint shrimp to take care of the little ones. The shrimp won't eat any that are bigger than they are. I did this about a year ago and haven't seen a single aiptasia since - and I don't even think I have any peppermints left. (They are very shy so you don't see them much anyway.

Yup, and Peps are safe with horses. Tank looks great.

And a lesson learned with horses, age your tank as you would for SPS. I put the horses in as soon as it was cycled and had fuzz on macros till just a few weeks ago. Feeding the horse's and the minimal digestive trac they have will keep your bio-load high no matter how many water changes you do, so let it establish.

Plus, somehow I got some flatworms in there that thought FWE was a growth enhancer. I treated about 8 times, the last time at almost 4X dose, Horse's didn't stress, had to take snails out, as they stressed at 1X. Finaly no more FW's.

Yeah, I had around 200 or so aiptasias. I added pep, and X'ed the big ones. I very rarely have one pop up these days, and I don't bat an eye :) On a side note: I've had some red fern/kelp macro in a pico, and somehow all the sediment in the water clouded up that macro. I think it was not enough flow, to blow the debris off of it.
