Some sad "Idol" news

I came home a couple nights ago to see that my very healthy, happy and fat Moorish Idol was missing. I thought that he could be swimming through the rock work and didnt' think twice about it. As I observed the tank through the night, I realized that something was up...
So I started searching through the rock for him and I found him stuck in the rock upside with his little fins flapping. I dug through the rock and got him out of that situation.
The next day I noticed he had pop-eye... not good, but I thought it would get better.
Today I noticed that his eye has exploded. He is still swimming around, but he is obviously having a rough week. He is having trouble "hunting" for food during feeding time.

Anyways, he's been with me for 5 months now and seems to be doing great. Anything I can do to help now that his eye has popped?

Thanks for you help in advance!

I just fed the tank some brine shrimp and he slowly ate about 10 shrimp... Usually he'd have 2-3 times more in that time frame.

I think he'll be fine IF he adjusts to his new situation. He's still eating, so that's a good sign.

I have a Freshwater Pseudotropheus acei "eccles reef", that had an eyes get eaten by another fish. After nursing him back to health. He's doing fine now, its interisting to see him adjust to the one eye.

I hope your idol gets better.

Soak some the food in maricyn 2 and feed it for about 2 weeks. I cured popeye on an anthias this way successfully.

Good Luck
