After seeing everything that is going on this board I felt like I had to make a response. I don’t think it’s really my place to but the club that I and a few others just created (BNARC) came from something similar like Slash did.
I don’t know all the details and it’s none of my business to, but from what I have read it seems like there are a lot of different opinions here..
Here is my stance, I believe both clubs so be able to co existed with each other and not have any ill feelings. I don’t think there is anything wrong with both clubs attending one event or meeting if the wish to, I think it helps everyone if everyone gets along and helps each other. I really think it makes a event or meeting better when more people get together, new friendships are formed and others are able to find out information about this hobby that would have never of known if they didn’t get together that day.
How ever I do believe there needs to be separate clubs, Slash was formed for a reason and I don’t think it helps anyone to just dissolve both clubs and make a new one. A lot of good people that have a wealth of information would probably be lost in the transition.
Right now I’d like to make amends with CIMA and have us both involved in doing things and attending each others meets and events but that is where we draw the line.
I also think that the paying members of each club have a huge say in what direction the club goes in. After the entire club would not exist with out them. I really think you guys should ask the membership what direction the club should go in when it comes to doing joined group events and meetings.
I also think you should give recognition to the people who have lead your club and made it a success. You have no idea how hard it to take charge of a group and try and run everything and be able to do a good job of it. A lot of free personal time is put into it.
To finish off what I was trying to say above, I am firmly against clubs merging, I think you guys have something really good going here and BNARC was getting really excited about meeting with guys for some of the up coming events. It would be a real loss to all of us to see those opportunities of sharing our knowledge and creating friendships with each other go away.
