some type of starfish...need help with I.D. pics included

Just having fun
Well i got home from work today and was looking around when i found this guy. there are 3 total on the rock at first i thought it was a mushroom being as how i have a few of them the same color, but then I noticed it sliding effortlessly on the rock in the same way a star would do...any ideas

Looks like some sort of asterina star. Most of them are harmless; some species may eat zoos. They ones that don't eat zoos eat coralline I think.
 
I think those are generally bad, they eat corals or algea.They are hitchikers, some are good, some bad
 
I've seen a few of those in my tank. I've never lost anything coralwise or seen them eating any. My zoa's are still budding like crazy. Maybe they haven't found them yet, but i've got alot. So far they have been safe for me.
 
they look cool =) more color to your tank :D personally i would leave them be.... but keep a very very close eye on them... if you notice them eating anything bad (ie corals) then get out a pair of tweezers and pluck em out =) otherwise id leave em....
 
I've got tons in my tank. Never seen them hurt anything, they get roughly the size of a knickel at the largest.

Unless you see them eating some coral that's healthy (sick corals are fair game for anyone!), I wouldn't worry about it.
