some type of worm or cucumber?

I moved a piece of liverock and this critter was behind it... it is fairly hard to the touch, and the "tentacle" for lack of a better term telescopes in and out...
the body is tan with light vertical stripes .. the "tentacle" has tiger stripes on one side...
sorry for the quality of the pics...

the tank it was in has been set up for almost a year... any idea what this thing is and if it's reef safe?

That's a very common type of sipunculid (AKA peanut worm). It's a detritivore and benficial.
