Got this new camera body on thursday, here is the first try out with the 5D MK II ...

Huge image quality difference compared to the 40D!

silky smooth...nice. I have the old 5D but upgraded. I should sell it while it's worth something instead of keeping it as a backup but I am too paranoid that "one day I might need it". What a waste of money.

Anyway, doesn't that rig have HD video? Try it yet? Can you pull stills from it?

I am under the impression that you can take stills while the video is recording, but pulling a still from a video after the fact is a different ball game.

It would also take a break from shooting the video since the aperture would adjust, the exposure would adjust, the shutter mechanism would fire, then everything would go back to video mode before it continued recording. I think that is how it goes but again I'm not 100% sure.
