All synchronous pumps spin clockwise or counterclockwise at random, prop pumps have to spin the right way to push water forward, unlike impeller pumps which work regardless of direction. This pump has a direction correction system that has somehow been defeated. When the prop spins backwards it should fly forward, hit some stop fins in the front housing and then fall back spinning the right way. Possibilities include:
1) Disk is in the wrong location, part 6065.792, should be at the base of the shaft, under the magnet, not in front of the propeller, if it is missing the pump may also spin backwards.
2) The propeller is broken, if the ends are broken off it will clear the stops and continue to spin backwards.
3) The prop and magnet are stuck to the shaft. They must be able to smoothly slide back and forth and spin.
