Something changed on my network....

My Apex had been connected fine, but now I can't get to it. When I type in the IP I used to go to on my home network it goes to the settings page for my wireless bridge.

I have a "Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming and Video Adapter". Obviously it connects fine, but I can't get to my Neptune controller. Both the adapter and the Apex had the same IP, I changed the one on the Apex, no luck, and then changed it back.

Not sure what is going on or how to get back to it.

Your router/gateway, gaming adapter and Apex each need their own IP address. All must be on the same subnet (first 3 octets of the IP address the same). Also, check your gaming adapter to insure the security settings match your router (SSID, WEP/WPA, passphrase, etc).

Not sure what it is, but I got back on. Now I can't update my firmware.(of course I plugged it in to the router to try to do that)

Operation failed with the following error information:

StartIndex cannot be less than zero.
Parameter name: startIndex

The entire time I was running before the IP on my Apex matched the IP on the adapter. It's working now and it is the same also. Not sure if it would be best for me to change one, but it works that way.

Problem is now I can't update my firmware.(well when I was plugged directly into the router vs. wireless)

"Operation failed with the following error information:

StartIndex cannot be less than zero.
Parameter name: startIndex"

Make sure that both the Apex and WGA are statically addressed (DHCP disabled) and have unique addresses.

Never seem or heard of that error. Hmm.

Always use static so that port forwarding would work properly.

It's odd when I look at my DHCP Client Table in my router it doesn't list either my WGA or the Apex or any unknowns. Yet when I type in the IP:port I get the log on for my Apex. When my Apex was unplugged from everything earlier and I typed in just the IP I could get onto my WGA, but now I can't.

Sent Neptune an e-mail about the error message. We'll see if they have an idea.

Router DHCP tables typically only show the addresses of devices to which the router has dynamically issued IP addresses. Some routers can determine the name and IP address of most or all connected devices by other means though.

In general... if the device is statically addressed, it won't show in the DHCP lease listing.

So it's not really odd ;)

Hum...

The reason I took it as odd was earlier today when things weren't working I could see my WGA on the network.(the and my wireless printer, desktop, my girl friend's iPod, and the lap top I was using) After I got things working it could no longer see it in that list.

The router is a Linksys Wireless-N Gigabit Router with Storage Link WRT350N.

Haven't heard from Neptune yet, of course it's late Sunday night.

DAMN! Now I can't work on my Apex at all because the web files are all screwed up. I'm going to try to download old firmware files and see if I can reload the older files.
