Well i was checking on my clams 3 weeks a go and i notice they had small pieces missing from there mantle, so I was looking to see what was munching on my clams . So every night one hour after the lights go off I was looking with the flashlight, so after 3 weeks I got the S@#%B it was a blue leg hermit crab the only one that the Tuskfish didn't eat . So I got him out ,and today my clams was expanding more and looking better.I post this experience so everyone that have this hermit get them out now.

Zoom way to go. I agree with Jim Norris, hermits are bad news when it comes to clams. Even though most people will say they never had a problem with them. Usually when they do get a problem it is too late. Hoping your clam makes a full recovery.

ime, i haven't had a problem with the blue-leggeds and clams. but for sure i have had several blue-leggeds get quite big and kill astreas for their shells.

i have since stopped buying blue-leggeds, but i have 1 left (the mrs. named sebastian). he was banished to the sump for about a year until i set up a little nano for him.

The things I dislike about crabs is that if you do have a clam that is stressed for whatever reason, it won't give the clam time to recover and possible cause more stress.
