Something on new rock

I picked up a new coral/Rock. The photo show the purple portion, which has just been purple for the first weeks. Tonight, when I got home, I notice white spots on it, which look like they're raised. Any ideas?

It's coraline algae and I would hypothesize it is bleaching/dying. You can see a similar formation of those bumps throughout the algae with little white dimples. The white against purple is likely creating an illusion that they are raised higher than the purple bumps.

It could either be a change in water parameters or the lighting. It's really not something to worry about. Just make sure you have proper parameters that are stable and your tank will do fine. There is always going to be an acclimation period on any coral that you get to your parameters and lights from where it came from. It's something you will get use to.

It could be your tank has a higher alkalinity and the initial shock from when you put the rock in the tank is now showing up.

Honestly, as DK pointed out, I wouldn't be too overly concerned. Keep your water stable and it will be fine. Of course I was only hypothesizing so it could be something entirely different, like snail eggs for example, but it doesn't look like eggs to me.
