Hi all, I have always had problems with water quality, particularly nitrate and phophate. Recently I just purchased a canister filter and decided I was going to fill it with activated carbon and phospahte removal media. I also purchased a Korallin biodenitrator to help keep the nitrates in check.
Low and behold while waiting for my new equipment to arrive (it takes months to get things in Australia), my water parameters have become, well perfect....everything is where is should be.
I haven't altered anything on the tank since it was first setup, the only thing I havent done, which I normally would do atleast every month, is do a water change. I haven't done a water change for over 2 months. Also the macro algae in my refugium has gone nuts.
Would the fact that I haven't done any water changes have made the difference? Should I still plumb in the new equipment, or leave it as is? Any thoughts?
Regards,
Isaac
