Something weird in my tank.

There is somwthing weird growing under my rock. I made a rock bridge in my tank, and under that rock bridge there is something white, looks fuzzy, growing. The guy at the saltwater aquarium store says it might be a sponge, but i doubt it. Its been growing for about 3 weeks or so.
Any ideas?
