Something with a good bottom/rock personality

Looking for an addition to my 29g reef. Doesn't have to be a big swimmer, looking for something that is going to hang out on the bottom or my rock work...any suggestions?

I have to do some research on blennys. I have very little experiece with these fish. I actually have a green clown goby on my potential stock list, but was unsure of its personality. I'm thinking that the clown goby is a definite choice.

Just there goofy looks alone make them fun to keep. Mine never goes far from the rocks and never goes near the bottom of the tank. If you have lunar lights and lots of pods you can observe them feeding at night as well.

Never goes near the bottom? I figured they would be all over the bottom! Any ideas on a colorful bottom dweller?

I'd vote for a cheerleader...

Good bottom, rock personality.

All kidding aside, does it have to be a fish? Otherwise there are some great shrimp like sexy shrimp that are really fun to watch in small tanks.

Haha, don't know how my girl would feel about that, I'm slowly trying to show her how awesome aquariums are :)

Anyways, I'm kinda shifting gears a bit. The more I think about it, I have a Coral Banded shrimp and an Emerald Crab, along with 15 Nassarius snails lol and a peppermint shrimp I barely see...do I need more bottom personality??! I don't think so.

So I'm thinking in addition to my clown and banghai cardinal, I can do a royal gramma, a green clown goby, and I'm guessing not much else lol

That will give me great color, a variety of personality amoung fish, and thats not even counting coral.

Flame hawks are really nice but say goodbye to your ornamentals. And with that size tank wouldn't be able to add any blennies or bottom dwellers. Starry blenny is my vote.

My flame hawk is in a 29 gallon, he has never bothered my shrimp (cleaner and peppermint), or hermits. He is friendly with tons of personality! He is always finding new funny places to rest, veggie clip, power head, cleaner magnet etc.

I like starry blennies too, I have one in my 125. You really can't go wrong with either!

Flame hawks are beautiful..but with the 50/50 chance on losing my peppermints or coral Banded, I just can't take the risk with one, I love my inverts too much :)

Mine stays up in the rocks, its visible all the time but it likes heights.
If your leaning more toward a bottom fish have you considered a jawfish?

I'd say blue spotted jawfish. Not until the coral banded is out.... you can never go wrong in personality with a goby shrimp pair- but just be careful with your live rock structures, and lids, etc.. but if done right, I think dwarfs most other saltwater personality in the hobby.
