Something wrong with snail??

I've got a mexican turbo snail that I think something is wrong with.

A couple of days ago, he was on the bottom of the tank, not "latched" onto anything. For a while I thought he was dead, and was going to remove him when I noticed just a hint of movement. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I left him in and he did indeed find his way back up the side of the tank.

What I noticed prior to this incident, and again now afterwards, is that he almost seems to be having trouble holding onto his shell. He is stretched way out of it while on the side of the tank (and granted he is fairly large...) and there is what would almost appear to be a tail (???) protruding out of the shell as well, and waving about in the current.

He really doesn't look good...any ideas what might be wrong with him??? :(

smell him if he stinks hes dieing

did you change salinity rapidly. i just killed a snail in my nano by toping off to fast >> opps corals fine tho lmao

No, I topped off my water just yesterday, and checked my salinity beforehand, and it was actually a wee bit high, so of course I added no salt. The snail began behaving oddly maybe Wednesday or so...I can't recall exactly.

The fish and crabs seem good, and I also added a lawnmower blenny last Friday, and he is settling just fine. And as you mentioned, my corals are doing fine too...but there is only 3 or so at the moment.

I think he is dying as well. I was just hoping there might be some way to help him out some...

Ok. I admit...I smelled dead ones once when I took them out of the tank...and I am REALLY not looking forward to smelling this guy!!! :p

But I am sure you are right. Thanks!
