somethings wrong with my coral?

hey there, i have a (so ive been told, not 100% positive about it though) flowerpot coral in my tank. it has been in there for almost a month. at first the coral would open up about 4 inches long (or more), however, in the last week or so it has not opened up as much (probably 1/4 of an inch or less).

does anyone have any suggestions why, and/or how i can solve this. i have noticed that our tank has heated up slightly over the past few weeks (about 29degrees celcius) however i can't seem to get the water temp down without a chiller (too expensive at the moment).

Thanks, jack.

What are your water parameters? That usually has a lot to do with it. Too much heat could also hurt it, 1 way to drop temp is to freeze pop bottles and put 1 in the sump at a time. Just be careful if the temp drops too rapidly. You might want to put a fan or 2 blowing across the top of the tank, and 1 for the sump.

A flowerpot is an LPS hard coral & that has its own forum. What are your params? Flowerpots are a very hard coral to keep.
