So Im driving home from Kermits tonight on 40 heading west towards Sam Cooper and when I get to the 240 exit some guy who realizes that he is going to miss the 40 overpass cuts through 3 lanes of traffic forcing me to slam on my brakes and hitting the Aztec in the next lane over ......... Well I was transporting my new aquarium that I had been setting up at Kermits for the last month ..... i had main tank tied down in the bed and the sump was riding in the passenger seat .. I was doing 65 @ least when he cut me off and I had to come to a complete skidding stop not to get hit too ... well when that happened I couldn't catch the sump in time and it shattered all over my dash ... I think my main display is chipped as well .... cant tell yet because no one is home to help me bring it in ... wonderful evening to an already wonderful day :mad:
 
Glad your ok. Sorry to hear about the sump and possible chip in the DT.

Unfortunatley, it's not just this city. I moved back from Atlanta over a year ago after having lived there for 5 years. The 285 beltline around Atlanta is the biggest cluster %#@& one could ever imagine.

Coming from Atlanta, I was happy to see a fairly civilized beltline here in Memphis. To be fair, 285 in ATL is very safe most of the time because there is always a wreck that keeps traffic at a standstill..........always!! haha
 
Wow. I am really sorry to hear about your new set up. I was at Kermit’s the other weekend admiring it, when Dave came and started telling me all about what you were doing to it. Hopefully insurance will cover the loss.
 
sorry for the misfortunes lately dude just remember they come in 3's. Its all good u work at Kermits its probably not your last display anyway. Not that any of this helps!
 
The most important thing is that you're okay.

Sounds like it all could have been much, much worse than just replacing your sump.

Scary, though ... that's for sure.
 
Just goes to show that you should always make your sumps out of 3" thick acrylic........

Before I said anything I needed to make sure my wife was not in the area that night, she drives an Aztec. She said she has not been in Memphis all week. After she asked me why I was so curious about her being in Memphis and I told her your story. She then gave me a dirty look and said a few choice remarks. So I guess it was not her.
 
Welcome to Memphis. So sorry...Someone has the right idea though, consider your deduct and then consider making it part if your claim.
