Sons blue shrooms

Son got a small one of these from Cletusklump here on the boards here for free (He still thanks you jeff). We kept moving it around and it grew a little but not much. Moved it to a 24g Aquapod and placed it near the top and it has exploded with growth and offspring. It went from 1 small to the ones you see here and a few on the back of the rock also. Is it normal for one of these to spend a yr doing nothing and then all of a sudden just break out with growth. It has really colored up to be a nice bright blue..I guess a few more watts of lighting from a 12g NC deluxe to the AP24 made a difference in these.

Heres another mushroom that's not so bright we had to move out of his tank and into a larger one of mine because it turned into a mushroom farm lately also.

From what I've read the blue metallic shrooms are one of the few shrooms that do much better with higher output lighting, so yeah it sounds like that was a normal reaction =)

Thats what I had thought too but it went from QT tank to my then 65g tank. It had dual 250MH lighting and we moved it all around there also and it didn't do anything and actually turned a purple color. I thought it was too much light and we put it in the Nano. Its just strange it took a yr before it all of a sudden sprouted up.

Who knows what these crazy shrooms we all have are "thinking". They all seem to have different personalities to me.

FWIW I have plenty of shrooms under 400w MH-SE xm 20k, most are about 3-4 inches under the top of the water colum. They will get very vibrant under high K and light. Just do it slow. Good luck
