Hello all,
I am a new member and I want to start out by saying this site is awesome and has helped me from the very beginning! For whatever reason it has taken me until now, about 18 months, to setup the account and get on here full time.
I was hoping someone might be able to help with the newest acquisition.
I picked up a bicolor blenny a week ago and he's been in the QT since then. He started eating frozen mysis the second day and I've fed him every other day since then, including today where he ate some rod's fish only blend.
Until today he mostly stays in the PVC fittings in the tank (10 G) and does the typical blenny- barely stick the head out of the pipe routine so I haven't really been able to inspect him since he was at the store, where he looked great. At least from how I remember seeing him...
Anyway today I was watching after I fed him and he was out I noticed a few little red open sores on his left side almost as if he had been picked on, but he is the only resident in the QT currently.
I looked through the stickies and did a quick google search and haven't really seen anything that looks similar.
tank parameters are PH: 8.1 ammonia/nitrites: 0, SG 1.021, did not test N03.
temp: 78*
He does not show any other symptoms. One other thing I noticed is the color becomes mottled at times but I feel like this is a normal type of camouflage behavior.
Thanks,
Eric
